SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM Restoration Society, Inc. Clubhouses (RSI) operates a 20 bed, scattered site
supportive housing program that provides safe, permanent housing and flexible support services for individuals who are homeless, with co-occurring diagnoses of mental illness and chemical dependency. The SHP program
works individually with each customer to find desirable housing in a neighborhood of their choice. Individuals qualify for the SHP through Erie County's Single Point of Entry (SPOE) and Care Coordination. Applicants are
screened through the County Housing Coordinator's office, choose their preference of housing providers, and then collaborate with the housing provider to develop a housing plan and find suitable housing. The SHP offers
customers housing support and resources that assist them in maintaining independent living. The SHP works closely with Care Coordination providers, other treatment and rehabilitation services in our local
community, and with other RSI programs (Clubhouse programs, ACE Employment Services, RSI PROS Recovery Partnership and Harbor House). Supportive housing services are offered on-site (in customer's apartments) and
off-site tailored to meet the customer's needs. The SHP operates within the context of recovery-based technologies and builds on customer's individual recovery plans and objectives. One unique feature of
the program is the tenant forums, built upon creating opportunities for customers to get-together regularly for informational, educational and social events. Tenant forums are designed to recognize and celebrate the
milestones and accomplishments realized by customers. The SHP offers permanent housing; but will assist customers to apply for Section 8 housing and home ownership. Ultimately, the SHP is designed to assist customers to
move toward greater self-sufficiency, refine decision-making skills in personal matters, and to achieve greater independence, integration and inclusion in preferred communities. |
